Sequestered

Being sequestered in March 2020 because of COVID-19 aka the “Corona Virus” is a double edged sword, on the one hand- I don’t really have a problem with it because I have already been living this way for quite a while, on the other hand- I am not fond of having a government body telling me that I MUST stay inside my home “Social Distancing” is just sanitized solitary confinement- even if you are under the same roof with other humans and animals.

I can no longer ignore the seriousness of this pandemic, but I refuse to get caught up in the fucked up panic that is slowly calming down, because I did see two planes with their landing gear down heading toward McCarran airport, also my daughter and her husband were able to bring home some edible groceries.

There is a silver lining to all this “Social Distancing” like- people are finally slowing the fuck down from all their frantic busyness, Zoom is having a day, Netflix stock must be soaring and YouTube is finally Cinderella at the Google digital ball.

Being sequestered -forced or voluntary- has been the perfect time for me to get shit done like- over learning (yes that can happen) how to wade into the ocean that is YouTube, wrangling my Writing Life Coach material into learning how to create an online course, leaning dangerously close to the light of Zoom and a new low cost audio platform that has my ear.

My advice as a Writing Life Coach and a rational human being, is to take this sequestered time that has been forced upon us by this virus and our government- get some of your shit done that you have proudly proclaimed to everyone within earshot that you don’t have time for, fucking learn something new like I did, and for God sake or whoever or whatever you curse or thank for the good and not so good that you happen to keep living through- KEEP WRITING!
